Random observations

Here are a few random observations I picked while in Melbourne for the Financial Services Forum:

  • Interestingly, the Melbourne Storm was on my flight to Melbourne on Sunday.

  • I find the gate lounge at SYD T3 more comfortable and inviting than MEL T1. Perhaps it’s because of the time of day (morning vs. night), or perhaps Sydney Airport is cleaner at the time. Sadly, I don’t fly enough to get access to Qantas Club.

  • Skybus is cheap. It’s $16 from Tullamarine to Southern Cross railway station—-a 20 km trip (about the same distance from Epping to Sydney CBD).

  • Privately run public transport seems to work well. Or maybe because some hard decisions were made long ago to simplify the fare system.

  • Minibars are expensive. That’s why I never use them.

There may be more random observations over the coming days, if I could think of them.
